Reconfiguration of "Migration" and "Woman" in a Participatory Museum Project. Migration:Cities Workshop in June the 2nd 2018, Historical Museum Frankfurt. Elif received her BA degree in Sociology (Galatasaray University, Istanbul) and MA degree in Anatolian Civilizations and Cultural Heritage Management (Koç University, Istanbul/Scholarship fellow). Co-founder of Museum Professionals Association in Turkey. Worked at Pera Museum, Istanbul, in the Business Development Projects between 2010-2012. Coordinator and curator of the Federal German Migrant Women Association’s Bibliothek der Generationen project in the Historical Museum Frankfurt. DFG fellow and PhD researcher at TU Berlin—IGK – Center for Metropolitan Studies Berlin-New York-Toronto. Her research interest span over museology, urban, and digital culture.

After studying Bachelor in Classical Archaeology in Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, Istanbul, I attended archaeological excavations such as Smyrna and Pergamon. I studied at the University of Bonn as an Erasmus exchange student. I finished my Master's at the University of Maastricht in Arts and Heritage: Policy, Management and Education. I did my internship in Museum Rotterdam and wrote my masters thesis about the museum's community practice Authentic Rotterdam Heritage.

Migration:Cities Workshop, Mexico 2017. Irazú Gómez Vargas has a Master in Management of Projects, by the Iberoamericana University, campus Puebla. Specialty on migration and asylum with a human rights perspective, University of Lanus, Argentina. Her commitment to the defense of refugees and migrants’ rights has led her to comply and collaborate on various networks al local, regional and national level. From 2008 to 2015 was responsible of the Program on Migration Issues at the Institute of Human Rights Igacio Ellacuría S.J. of the Iberoamericana University, Puebla. In 2010 academic stay at The Westchester Hispanic Coalition in New York. Her research work has been developed mainly on women and asylum seekers especially in detention. Currently is Coordinator of Incidence and Vinculation of the ONG Sin Fronteras. [hide]

For the past eight years has, been working in drugs policy, gender, human rights and political ecology with organizations such as the London International Drug Policy Consortium and the CDHM Tlachinollan, among others. She was coordinator of the Migration Studies Program of the Mexican Human Rights Academy (AMDH), consultant for the Regional Office in Mexico of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and founder and director of Sin Fronteras IAP. She has also been a guest scholar at the Center for Inter-American Studies and Programs (CEPI) of the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) and member of the National Council for the Prevention of Discrimination (CONAPRED). She has worked for more than 25 years on issues of migration, asylum and human rights from civil society, seeking to promote dialogue and the development of more just and adequate public policies.
