Paul Th. van de Laar is endowed professor in urban history at the Erasmus University School of History, Culture and Communication. Besides, he is a managing director of Museum Rotterdam (the City Museum), responsible for the new focus on city museums and their role in a changing urban context, in particular the role of cultural heritage in superdiverse cities.

After studying Bachelor in Classical Archaeology in Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, Istanbul, I attended archaeological excavations such as Smyrna and Pergamon. I studied at the University of Bonn as an Erasmus exchange student. I finished my Master's at the University of Maastricht in Arts and Heritage: Policy, Management and Education. I did my internship in Museum Rotterdam and wrote my masters thesis about the museum's community practice Authentic Rotterdam Heritage.

The Krachtvrouwen in the Oude Westen, Rotterdam is a community of 300 women from 80 different nationalities, who join forces to support one another and the neighbourhood. They do so during activities where they meet and eat together. Women can decide themselves how often they join activities. Some of them only join the coffee gathering; they drink coffee together and talk with each other. Others are much more active and join the sewing lessons, are active in the kitchen or join the Dutch lessons. They can also join sports activities or visits to the museum. Museum Rotterdam is collecting the contemporary history of the city in an active collection. The ‘Krachtvrouwen’ are in this Authentic Rotterdam Heritage collection no. 0011 [hide]

Peter Scholten is Professor of Migration and Diversity Policies at Erasmus University Rotterdam, director of the IMISCOE Research Network and editor-in-chief of the journal Comparative Migration Studies. His research focuses on themes of migration and integration governance, comparative public policy, and the relation between research and policymaking. Since 2014 Peter is coordinator of the IMISCOE Research Network and head of the Network Office established at EUR. Migration:Cities Workshop in June the 2nd 2018, Historical Museum Frankfurt. The case study of Rhome - Migrant eyes and memories. Claudia Pecoraro is a Researcher and Curator. She started researching about museums after her degree in Humanities and Archaeology, when she specialized with a dissertation on the Musée de la Tapisserie de Bayeux in France in 2006 and has since gained many experiences abroad. For two years, she has been working on Rhome – Migrant eyes and memories, a research project in social inclusion within museums, focusing on the city’s new inhabitants from around the world. She has been the curator of several participatory projects and exhibitions of contemporary art. She is currently working for the Regional Ministry of Culture in Rome. Gloria Romanello is a Researcher and Consultant.
